Mini Review: THE GEM x HFW – MINIATURE COUTURE

Last October, SOOM collaborated with Hongik University Fashion Design graduates to host a special exhibition titled “THE GEM × HFW : MINIATURE COUTURE” at the SOOM Creative Lounge.
This exhibition was a collaborative project, reimagining the experimental and creative clothing of student designers on the newly developed Hyper Gem doll body.
THE GEM x HFW Project Expands the Value of Collaboration
This exhibition was not only simple clothing creation but explored new ways of expressing fashion, actualize the creator’s ideas, and demonstrated the “expandability of creativity through collaboration.” The interplay of HFW’s spirit of creative experimentation and The Gem’s sculptural worldview resulted in a unique fashion miniature exhibition.
The exhibition space was reminiscent of a scaled-down fashion show, showcased the experimental spirit of the young designers. Through the sculptural beauty and craftsmanship condensed into a small scale, visitors were able to experience a new perspective on fashion.
THE GEM X HFW project
demonstrated the new possibilities that arise when doll art, fashion design, and experimental textiles combine.
While it was a short project, we are grateful to the designers who participated and everyone who visited the site. SOOM will continue to collaborate with diverse creators to offer new visual experiences.
